Police Officer Austin Jones, Jr.
Class of 1997
Obituary from Austin’s funeral service: Austin Jones, Jr. was born in Hansford, California on July 13, 1979 to the parentage of Marcy Noble and Austin Jones, Sr. On Monday morning, December 30, 2013, God called and Austin answered and said, “Here I am Lord”.
Two years ago he opened his heart and accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and is now resting until judgment day.
He was a 1997 graduate of Towers High School in Decatur, Georgia. Before his transition he was enrolled in Columbia Southern University in pursuit of his Criminal Justice Degree. His dedication to helping others allowed him to be an outstanding officer who graduated from the Police Academy with honors, going on to be a dedicated Officer and Gentleman that he was, for both DeKalb and Clarkston Police Departments.
Austin wasn’t the ordinary guy, not only was he a loving husband, great dad, good provider, strong person and a devoted friend, Austin truly cared…
His hobbies were singing, nice cars, and video games. His passions were being healthy and physically fit, being the best provider for his family, and making sure his wife was happy.
Austin was united in holy matrimony to Thomesha Wiggs on June 9, 2006. To this union two children were born, Austin and Aubrey, whom he adored.
Austin leaves to cherish his memories; a loving wife, Thomesha Wiggs Jones; two children, Austin and Aubrey; father, Austin Jones, Sr. (Wanda); a brother, Joshua Jones; and five sisters: Genobia Simpson (Seyoun), Iana Jones Brewer (Adrian), Obianju Parker (Burnis), Ukeeya Taylor and Efie Taylor; May God be with you all.
During his wonderful marriage he also gained two other sisters, three other brothers, another mother, Valerie Wiggs, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
