IN MEMORY OF ...
Class of 1973
Doris Mobley Banks
From Theresa McQueen Nix... "Just one more thing I wanted to share with you, a bookmark they had made at the funeral. I'm sure that Tony won't mind me sharing. On the front side is a picture of Doris with a beautiful poem, and on the back is another picture of Doris waving, and her very last email she sent.
....I don't know if you heard or not but I have to tell you the SWEETEST thing I ever heard. You know Doris was at Tom Wages, and she was buried just across the street at Eternal Hills. Tony said he wanted to have the funeral service at the Church because he could push the casket across the street, and "His Girl" deserved a long ride (like the honoring of her) and was it ever long!!!! But the really sweet thing was Tony drove the hearse!!!! I will use Tony's words as close to a quote as I can get. He said, "That is my Girl, and I took her everywhere she needed to go. I want to take her on her last ride." I cried when I heard this. Oh, how he loved her! What a precious thing to do and say! They were married 35 years. It will be so hard on him when he goes back to that same home they always lived in and be alone. So we need to keep him and his family in our prayers. I just wanted to share this with you. It touched me so!"
Doris and Tony and a few friends: Wanda Nichols, Mary Maduros Coulter,
and Katrinka Fortmann Maddox at the Towers Class of 1973's
30th reunion held in 2003.
Sadly, Doris passed away on Febraury 13, 2009

breast cancer, heart attack, and stroke.

Tribute: To the Family, I do not presume to know God's plan and how everything works together for His glory, but I know that Mrs Doris played a part of the His grace and mercy I needed a few months ago. My wife,Pam, found out she had breast cancer and I did not handle it well at all. In one conversation I had with Mrs Doris the fear was softened. Pam, by the Grace of God, came thru treatments fine and test have been great since, but we will except His will and know that the only reason that any of us are still here is because we still have things to do for Him down here. I do not have the words that might ease the pain for the loss of a special person like Mrs Doris. She cannot be replaced with anyone or anything, just please understand that she was a since of peace and understanding for a big ol boy from North Mississippi in a very stormy time of his life. My Christain walk was strenghten because of this very special lady. Pam and I will keep you in our prayers and thoughts. Love in Christ Kent and Pam Littlejohn
